First Health Check

Our health is the basis for a high quality of life. Regular check-ups can help to detect health problems and their consequences at an early stage. Early treatment can then be initiated.

Procedure

The First Health Check takes place in Baden at the ifa practice premises at Kreuzweg 3. After making an appointment, we will contact you to organize the measurement of heart rate variability (HRV). Many patients who are heading towards burnout are unable to properly perceive their condition. With the HRV measurement method, we can use a validated measurement to show them where they stand. The HRV measurement can also be carried out outside of Baden.

In this case, you will receive the measuring device by post to your home or business address on the date of your choice (at least 2 weeks before the date of the First Health Check). You can set up and start the measuring device yourself with the help of the instruction video. You return the device the following day. The results will be discussed on the day of the First Health Check in Baden.

After the blood sample is taken, the lungs are X-rayed, the electrocardiogram is recorded and a lung function test is carried out, followed by an ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs and the carotid artery. You will then be served a hearty breakfast and the daily newspaper. You will then be interviewed and examined for one hour by one of our medical specialists. This is followed by an exercise ECG on a bicycle. This records whether your heart and blood pressure are behaving normally under physical stress. At the end of the morning, you will receive all the examination results, including the HRV analysis, as well as further recommendations and tips for improving or maintaining your health.

After lunch in one of the neighbouring restaurants, we begin the examination in the afternoon with a comprehensive cardiac ultrasound, which provides valuable information about your heart function and any defects.

This is followed by the skin check. This serves to detect skin cancer at the earliest possible stage. High-resolution macro images of all potentially conspicuous moles are categorized as normal, borderline or conspicuous by the device's artificial intelligence. Detailed information on the examination can be found below.

Before you go home, you will receive the entire summary dossier with all analyses in paper and electronic form.

The First Health Check takes about 6 hours plus a 1-hour lunch break. Please reserve enough time from the date you have chosen.

› For detailed information

The aim is not the early detection of skin cancer, but the earliest possible detection.

Total Body Dermoscopy documents the skin and individual moles and recognises pathological changes at the earliest possible stage. The technology is based on a «three-step method»:

  1. Full body images are taken in the underwear for an overall view of the moles.
  2. Subsequently, images are taken of all potentially conspicuous moles, which are categorized as normal, borderline or conspicuous by the device's artificial intelligence.
  3. At the end of the examination, you will receive a detailed evaluation of your skin findings, which can be presented to the dermatologist for further treatment if required.

Please note:

  • The examination takes about 1 hour. More time is needed for tattoos.
  • The examination is performed in underwear. For technical reasons, we recommend wearing dark-colored underwear without embroidery, lace or transparencies.
  • Make-up should also be avoided.
  • Written summary of the results and recommendations
  • Summary dossier with all analyses on paper and electronically
